Posted by Jon on 10/13/2009 When playing Free Trade mode: Sell all your cannons, then borrow your max to get around 25,000 dinar of liquid assets. Buy one cannon back. You can win your first couple battles with this cannon if you choose your curses wisely. Diversify your cargo at the first port. Then whatever cargos gets you the least profit, buy those at the second port. Whenever you get to a lender, refinance your loan. For the first few months, you can at least double your money, so dont worry about the 10% monthly interest. If you want to trade in contraband (and you DO. It has some of the best profit margins even when not contrabanded) be sure to tithe heavily. There are four key pieces of info you need each month. Posted by Jezreel on 06/29/2008 Tiger Bai and Hasan are the most fierce characters, I finished the game twice using them. Hehe. Ive been playing for about 4 hours, and I have over 20 million. Trading is the best way to earn money, and all you have to do is stop in at the markets while you`re doing missions. Then you can use this money to buy new ships or deck out your old ones with stone golems (each of my 10 ships has 10). After that, battles are more easy money -- it takes about 15 seconds to win any battle, and only about 5% of the booty will be spent repairing your ships. :) Posted by AlKhazam on 03/19/2008 An easy way to make money is to buy the cheapest salt you can find, and then going where its expensive and selling it (I got over 40,000,000 doing this). Posted by Sea Dragon on 11/20/2007 Instead of carrying contraband items put them in a warehouse and wait until they become illegal in that port than you can sell them for at least double the price. Posted by Nazim a.k.a Bewak on 01/05/2007 Don`t waste money buying ship with "Feather Light" power-up. They cause your enitre ship to endure storms more frequently. If Richness is your goal, just buy ships with "Massive Vault" and try to minimize your Cannon quantity (buy stone golem only because they`re strong. Even better if you put those in "Sure Shot/Heavy Cannon" ship!) Trust me it work`s! Posted by Andres on 12/26/2006 Beware that every battle you do adds a ship in the next battle! Also if you`re going to trade, pay at the religious building to get good tips on trading. Posted by Nandi1 on 09/08/2006 Dont waste time with cargo etc. I got up to over 100,000 just by talking to kings and sorting out beef Posted by Nandi1 on 09/08/2006 Nandi is the EASIEST PERSON TO PLAY AS! Firstly because he has the eaiest missions, and also has about 5000 dinari in the bank.
Posted by Myst on 04/03/2007 As soon as you can get contraband items, save the game and buy as much contraband as you can. Pay tithes at the temples to get where it`ll be contraband at and when, and then go there. If it`s confiscated, load your game and try again. If it isn`t, sell it and save the game, then repeat. If you`re playing as Nandi, once you get a Bank interest rate of over 4%, start borrowing money from lenders to put in the bank. While it seems strange, you actually gain money from the interest in the bank faster than your debt builds up.
